El Rosario, probably one of the most beautiful and unusual houses in Andalucia, stands at the heart of La Molineta, this small group of houses on a hillside outside Frigiliana. It was the centre of the mill complex and the millrace is still visible above it.

To reach El Rosario, climb the steps into a piazza shaded by an olive tree, with an antique water trough, vines and orange tree. Here, on the right, is the front door. Enter directly into an entrance hall and sitting room fascinatingly furnished with European, Middle Eastern and Oriental antiques and artefacts and provided with satellite TV, CD player and wood burning stove. Off the dining area is a sheltered balcony which makes a wonderful conservatory type breakfast room for winter and, with windows and doors open, a cool summer dining area too.

Continue into the spacious, well designed kitchen - equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, food processor and dishwasher.

Wander through the house and reach the heart of the complex, an impressive hall with massive fireplace, , wonderful carved wood sofas and a long dining table which seats 12. This leads to a large, leafy patio for dining outdoors and on to the sheltered and private swimming pool (pool - 7m x 3m, shallow end 0.9m) with its comfortable sun beds. Other pretty terraces lead off this area

The bedrooms are upstairs, all with electric blankets and heaters: A double bedroom with its own secluded patio, charming en-suite bathroom and dressing area; the twin room and the second double bedroom have stunning views down the valley; the other twin room has views onto the piazza. There is a spacious bathroom with hand shower and a shower room, both with WCs and basins and a laundry with washing and drying machines.
